Frequently asked questions
1
Why an 8-month minimum?
Your monthly price includes drop-off, pickup and return delivery, spread across 8 payments. That's how we keep it one simple price.
2
What if I come back early?
No problem. We'll schedule your delivery once the rest of your 8-month term is paid.
3
When is delivery?
Free on-campus pre-arrival delivery August 6–13. Students do not need to be present.
Free off-campus delivery August 16–20.
Storage through your August delivery date is included in your plan, so there's nothing extra to pay.
4
What if I'm not back in August?
No problem. We'll keep your things month to month at $55 (Minimalist), $79 (Standard) or $105 (Plush), plus tax, until you're ready. Just let us know by July 15 so we can plan your delivery.
5
When am I charged?
Monthly, in advance, starting on your pickup date.
6
Are my things covered?
Our liability is limited to $0.60 per pound (up to $100 per box). We don’t provide insurance, so consider adding your items to your renters or homeowners policy.
7
Can I store more than the Plush plan?
Yes, absolutely. We measure your items and price them by the space they take up. Email support@stowsimple.com for a quote.
8
Bins or boxes: which should I choose?
Choose bins if you're storing clothes, bedding and everyday items. Our bins are free with every plan. Choose boxes if you're moving off campus or to University Village, have bulky or oddly shaped items, or want boxes you can keep. Boxes are $55 for 5 with packing tape, then $10 each. Bins or Boxes?
Moving off campus or to University Village? We recommend boxes.
Bins are Stow Simple property, so we have to collect them. Off campus, you'd need to unpack right away at delivery, or it's $60 for a second trip to get the bins.
University Village residents would need to return bins to Lakeside Village, because UM restricts vehicles near University Village once students arrive.
